Fees and Medicare
Dr Ng consults privately through eCardiology. The practice will tell you the consultation fee and any out-of-pocket cost when you book.
- Referral: a current referral from your GP or specialist is needed to claim the Medicare rebate. GP referrals usually last 12 months; specialist referrals 3 months.
- Medicare: part of the consultation fee is rebated by Medicare; the difference is the gap you pay.
- Private health insurance doesn't cover consultations outside hospital, but usually covers procedures in a private hospital. You'll receive an estimate of fees before any planned procedure.
- Public hospital care: if cost is a concern, ask your GP about referral to a public hospital clinic.

- A list of your current medications
- Recent test results, scan reports or angiogram discs
- Your Medicare card and any private health insurance details
