Telehealth
Telehealth (video) consultations are offered case by case, mainly for patients in rural and regional Western Australia who can't easily travel. eCardiology checks each referral to confirm telehealth is suitable.
If you need a procedure
Private patients have their procedures at Bethesda Mount Hospital, Hollywood Private Hospital or St John of God Murdoch Hospital. Public patients have their procedures at Royal Perth Hospital. Before any procedure, Dr Ng explains the reasons, the benefits and the risks, along with the alternatives, including not having the procedure. The practice will tell you which hospital, when to arrive, and what to do with your medications beforehand.
After a planned coronary angiogram or stent, many people go home the same day or the next morning. After a heart attack or a complex procedure the stay is usually longer. You'll have recovery advice and a follow-up appointment before you leave.
Fees and rebates
A current referral from your GP or specialist is needed to claim Medicare rebates for specialist consultations. eCardiology can explain consultation fees and any out-of-pocket costs when you book. Dr Ng is a no-gap provider with all health funds for procedures in a private hospital, so most insured patients have no out-of-pocket cost for his procedural fee. This depends on your level of cover, and other providers, such as the anaesthetist (if needed) or hospital, may charge separately. Fees and Medicare
