About Dr primero ng
Dr Primero Ng
Dr Primero Ng, MBBS (Hons), FRACP, FACC, FSCAI, is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist based in Perth, Western Australia, with advanced expertise in complex coronary artery disease. His practice focuses on the treatment of chronic total occlusions, high-risk and complex percutaneous coronary intervention, and patients who have been declined or are unwilling to undergo coronary artery bypass surgery. He is also dual-trained in Cardiac CT, providing an imaging-led approach to diagnosis, procedural planning, and follow-up care.
Dr Ng graduated with honours from the University of Western Australia and completed his specialist cardiology training across major tertiary hospitals in Perth. He subsequently undertook advanced coronary training at Royal Perth Hospital, where he developed a strong foundation in intravascular imaging and coronary physiology. These tools, including intravascular ultrasound, optical coherence tomography, and pressure-wire assessment, are routinely used in his practice to enhance procedural precision, safety, and long-term outcomes.
Dr Ng was later selected as the only overseas fellow to train at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, internationally recognised as one of the world’s leading centres for complex coronary intervention and chronic total occlusion PCI. There, he completed a formal Complex and High-Risk Indicated PCI fellowship under the mentorship of global leaders in the field, including Dr Bill Lombardi, Dr Jamie McCabe, Dr Kate Kearney, and Dr Lorenzo Azzalini. This highly competitive fellowship emphasised not only technical excellence but also leadership, culture-building, and an unwavering commitment to patient safety and outcomes.
Dr Ng’s clinical expertise spans the full spectrum of complex coronary intervention, including long-standing complete blockages, heavily calcified arteries, multivessel and left main coronary disease, and revascularisation strategies for patients with limited treatment options. His approach is data-driven, imaging-guided, and carefully tailored to each patient’s anatomy, symptoms, and goals.
Dr Ng currently consults and sees patients in private practice at the Mount Hospital and in Mandurah, while also holding a public appointment as an Interventional Cardiologist at Royal Perth Hospital. At RPH, he is the Co-Lead of the Complex Coronary Therapeutics Program, where he is actively involved in advancing the delivery of complex coronary care, developing structured pathways, and improving access to advanced interventional techniques for patients across Western Australia. He also reports Cardiac CT studies for Western Radiology, supporting an imaging-led approach to diagnosis and treatment planning.
With a strong focus on quality of life, Dr Ng believes that successful cardiology care extends beyond technical success. Through world-class training, collaborative practice, and thoughtful decision-making, he is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based coronary care across Western Australia, offering clarity and durable solutions where options may appear limited.
